If you have submitted your application then below information could be useful for you.

Generally, your application will follow the below path after the submission of your PR application.

An important note:- This is the trend which is happening with most of the applicants. It may or may not match your application process flow and timeline. The actual clarity of application status can be retrieved via GCMS notes only.

“Mass BG status change on 27th Feb”

  1. BG Check: Not Applicable (NA1)
  2. Medical passed – (MEP)
  3. BG Check In Progress (IP1) – R10 check is done here.
  4. BG Check: Not Applicable (NA2) – Eligibility check is done here.
  5. BG Check: In Progress (IP2) –
  6. BG Check: Not Applicable (NA3) – Sometimes this doesn’t come
  7. PPR: Passport Request
  8. CoPR: Confirmation of Permanent Residence

So it is in below order

AOR – NA1 – MEP – IP1 – NA2 – IP2 – NA3 – PPR – CoPR

AOR: This is a letter you will get within 24 hours after submission of your PR application.

NA1: “Not applicable“. This will be your BG status message as soon as you submit and get AOR.  Typically, this will be status till the time you get your medical passed status.

MEP: “You passed the medical exam“. This will generally happen after approx 10-15 days after your AOR. For PNP applicants it can take more time generally.

IP1:  This will happen one or two days after your medical. Sometimes on the same day itself. BG status message in this stage will be “Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.”. CIC agents will do R10, criminality checks during this stage. Once they feel everything is good then they will change it to NA. These things will happen at CIO Office (Centralized Intake Office).

NA2: “Not applicable“. This will signify that IP1 is completed. Sometimes IP1 will take a few hours and if we have not checked our account during the time it was in IP1, it won’t be possible to know that we are in NA1 or NA2. Our file will be transferred to CPC (Case Processing Center) where agents will do eligibility assessments. If they feel everything is okay, then they will provide their recommendation to Visa Officer and the same time they will initiate Security Checks.

IP2: BG status message in this stage will be “We are processing your background check. we will send you a message if we need more information.“. Visa Officer starts reviewing or after reviewing all agents recommendations. PPR mail will be triggered if the applicant paid RPRF up front. PPR mails these days are taking 7-20 days after you are in IP2 stage.  These things will be done at the CPC office.

Generally, messages will be like below in IP2 status:

status

NA3: “Not applicable“. This will signify that IP2 is completed. This status is not visible in many cases and direct PPR request is placed from IP2.

PPR: Passport Request. You will get an email for that and you may not get an update in your CIC account for this. VFS procedure for India PPR is After PPR – a procedure at INDIA VFS

ADR: Sometimes an additional document is requested in IP1 or IP2 stage. An email, as well as message in your CIC account, will be sent.

  1. I am in manitoba pnp. My file reached cic on the 10 may 2017. I got aor on 25 july 2017. And my file reached delhi visa office on 14 aug 2017. Then there was a long pause for anything to happen. Then on 28 aug 2018 i got medical exam request for which i appeared on 3 sept 2018 along with my wife and 2 kids. Status in gckey changed on 6 sept 2018 that i have passed medical exam. Then on 9 sept 2018 i entered in ip2 as my status changed to we are processing your background check and on the same day that is on 9 sept 2018 i got pre arrival mail. So suddenly a lot has changed in the past few days. Can any one guess how much time to get ppr. Your replies would be appreciated. Thank you.

  4. Hi All,

    AOR DD 29th Jan 2018
Saw ghost update on 5th June 2018
Waited for 2 weeks and I didn’t get any email notification.
So, called up CIC and they confirmed that the application was approved and said that it will take few weeks to send the PP request.
Have been calling them every week and its more than 1.5month and I havn’t received any email from them.

Anyone faced the same situation? I am unable to decipher why this waiting period required even after the application was ‘approved’
I paid the entire amount too.
    Any thoughts? suggestions?

    1. This is just an assumption. Movement of cases depending on applicants- stream, documentation they submitted, travel history etc.

If they have e.g. have an extensive travel history and to certain regions which maybe high on the authorities radar, it will surely take a lot more time for background and security checks…

      Again this just my opinion.

I submitted the documents(including PCC, Work Contacts, Letter of References, Travel History, Medical exam receipts, Proof of Funds, Travel History, WES, IELTS, etc) on 4 April through the online system and paid the fee online(i believe this is called e-APR). I got the Acknowledgement of Notice(AoR) notice on the same day itself after few minutes

My query is with regards to the IELTS Score. The validity of my current IELTS score is until 30 April 2018.
Do I need to give IELTS exam all over again?

From what I have read in all the Forums & CIC website , the score should be valid at the time of ePR. , which in our case is fine as we have done the filing before 30th Apr. Good luck mate.

      1. Hi Rehan, I had some forum members told me that if you have received AoR your application has been received. I tried to get more details and the if your status shows like this e.g. https://ibb.co/gEfs47 then as per the forum members you are in IP2 stage(the review of your IELTS and respective done) and once this is processed you will be asked to submit your passports.

Did you hear anything different ?

Disclaimer… It is just what I heard and I am not authority on this subject….

CIC has sent me the PR counterfoil attached passport but have not keyed in my address and in the process Canada post has returned it to CIC( as per Canada post version) . Now it has got 3 passports(Mine/Spouse/Son) along with the COPR letter and I have no clue where it is exactly as Canada post is only saying that its been delivered back to CIC since the destination address was not given.
Could you please advice what I will do in this scenario as I need to travel outside Canada in a month’s time..

      1. No not yet. I called them on NDVO phone number from google. They picked up the call but did not tell me the status. Alternately theta sked me to write a mail to delhimimmigration to enquire about statyis. It has been more than 8 months since AOR and more than 5 months since RPRF paid. But no movement in the application. Frustrating
